University of San Francisco

At the University of San Francisco, there's always a spot at the table. Top of their class, first in their family, least included, most likely to — we've chosen to make USF diverse. And it's our job as an inclusive community to find common ground and then move to higher ground. Explore the vision and values that make USF unique.

Engaged Learning

Our style of education is deeply challenging and personal, where students and faculty work together to create an experiential academic environment.

Our students graduate ready for anything and curious about everything. They're equipped with comprehensive expertise, communication skills, and hands-on experience. But more importantly, they're prepared to lead and inspire change, as professionals and partners, academics and neighbors.

Discover how USF students of different backgrounds, academic interests, and involvement areas have already changed the world from here.

The University of San Francisco is a reflection of the world-famous city that surrounds it — progressive, entrepreneurial, diverse, passionate — a 7x7 mile living laboratory that inspires students to set the world on fire.

Across 34 neighborhoods (and 19 ecosystems), there's opportunity. And it's up to us to seize it. Surprise yourself — change the world from here.

Welcome back. USF alumni are changing the world — with education, innovation and passion. This is your USF advantage.

To help meet the cost of pre-first grade childcare, USF offers a subsidy for full-time faculty and staff. The program provides employees the flexibility to choose a childcare provider at a location that suits their family's needs and a subsidy amount to contribute to the cost of that childcare. A new childcare subsidy form must be submitted online for each year that the benefit is requested.

The high retention and graduation rates for our Undergraduate, Graduate, and Law Programs are a result of our small class sizes, motivating cohort programs, and our faculty's connection to the local business and legal communities.

WORKING PROFESSIONALS

Golden Gate University offers a variety of scheduling options to accommodate our students' varying availability. Since more than 80% of students attend part-time, classes are offered on campus or online, with programs in the afternoons, evenings, and even on weekends. Our academic advisors will work with you to build a plan that best suits you. You can take courses while working full time, while traveling, or while raising a family. We also offer a range of scholarships and grants for undergraduate or graduate students, both on a need-based and a merit-based basis.

As a student at GGU, you are not just learning, you are building connections with leaders in your field, working with experienced professionals, and receiving a career-based education. We also offer a full gamut of internships, career development resources, and counseling services. We'll give you the tools to achieve your professional goals, and new momentum to reach your personal ones.

NON-PROFIT

As a nonprofit, we are solely focused on the education of our students without the distraction of shareholders or profits. And as a private institution, we don't rely on state funding to keep our classes going as public institutions do.

Because Golden Gate University is a private, non-profit institution, you'll have a much easier time getting the classes you need at times you want. More importantly, you can structure your program to work at your pace, so you don't have to overwhelm yourself with classes in order to graduate on time.

We like to think of it as giving our students what they pay for -- superior course selections from a school that isn't hung up on profit margins, so you know that your tuition money is working for you.

ALUMNI

Alumni success is at the core of our mission at GGU, and you will join leaders in business, legal, and non-profit communities who have taken control of their professional life with a degree.
